hi i've just bid and won a 11ft 8-9 cdx 66 fly rod on ebay for £28.01+£9.99 p+p,wanted big rod to throw a airflo 40 plus 8weight line on the ever increasing windy days....this rod although quite heavy, really does the job 35m no problem!! gets you to places rarely fished from the bank, cant fault it for the £ detachable fighting butt,good shape handle,reasonable cork,solid joints,and a nice bend when playing fish.soft enough to absorb big lunges.
have broken sk4 tip double hauling, and now have sk8 which is a classy powerful bit of kit, and really comes into it's own when you hit a big fish (you feel every thing but you know your in charge)....but it cost £199.00 !!!
I would not want to fish with the cdx all day but for the odd hour this rod will get you to more fish,fear the wind no more.if you have the build to fling this one
