Thumbs up Zenith Fly Rods

Stevie Parkes certainly knows his business. These rods on FT blanks are very quick off the mark. I thought that being fast, tip action they'd lack the delicacy needed for decent roll casting. How wrong was I, they lift a long line with ease and turn the line over nicely at distance too.

Sometimes, when you cast on the forward stroke, with most rods, you can feel a quiver in the tip, but not with these. On your casting strokes, only the top third flexes, showing true strength and moving the fly line at speed. There's no need for any hefty double hauling either, a shorter casting stroke is all that's needed to ping the line out.

I tried the nine foot Seven weight, with Pacific Bay reel fitting and single fastner and a full wells handle, beautiful. Two lined stripper rings and single leg snakes with a hayfork tip ring, finished with blue tyings and silver tippings.

Comes supplied in a partitioned rod sock and cordura tube with warranty.

In conclusion, a very easy to cast rod creating a tight loop making true distance achievable.

Default 9' FT Blanks 6/7wt

Took me a while to get out and try the FT but when I did all I can say it wow! Took a wee bit of getting used to but once I had the timing it was just so effortless to get the line out and boy does it shoot the line. I couldn't get my head around how much the line shoots from so little effort, in fact I still can't. I'm fairly new to fly fishing but have tried quite a few rods, I knew from very early on that I needed a fast action rod and have found exactly what I'm looking for in the FT blanks.

Not only that, I've been going through a dry spell recently on my local stillwater, so it was extra special to nail a bow on my 2nd cast, released it, cleaned the fly, cast out again and hello, 2 fish in 2 casts. Rare for me.
3 more casts, decided to cast a bit further, the minute the fly hit the water, bang. 6 casts, 3 fish.

Phoned Steve today to discuss a couple of things and not only does he make fantastic rods but he is such a nice bloke and I'm 100% confident that the standard he has set will carry on well after the sale of any rod.

I agree with what has already been said especially how well the rod roll casts.
I could fish with that rod all day, good value for money.

Default Totally agree with you mate

Does tend to bang the line out there doesn't it?
