I had been waiting for a cassette system to accommodate the growing number of lines that now seem "vital" to reservoir boat fishing.
Most of the ones I had seen - BFR, Koma, etc were just that bit too heavy for my liking (I've been using a Wychwood Ionica, which is super light and super large arbour) and the spool change was sometimes not as simple or slick as intended.
I took delivery of the Geo Cassette and a dozen spare spools about a month ago and have now moved my lines from the Ionicas and a set of four Danica Compos that I also used. The Geo is not dissimilar in appearance to the Ionica - large diameter, machined aluminium, no doubt from a neighbouring Asian factory. The spools are clear glass/composite, similar to the Demon. In fact, the whole system is quite like the Demon with a few differences :
- size is perfect for 7-9 lines. I use 8's and the Demon 5000 was too small for them but the 7000 was that bit heavier. The Geo is spot on.
- it is an ounce or two lighter than the 7000 and balances lightweight rods nicely
I have now fished a number of trips, including some matches where I have made numerous line changes (I am a changer, rather than a waiter

) and I can confirm that the spool changes is simple, quick and positive even in the heat of battle. The drag has not had much use but seems to have a good degree of variation and is easy to operate.
What could be improved ? Well, just the bundle really - this design is made for someone with plenty of lines so should be sold in a package with a minimum of five, in my opinion. As it is, for £189 you get no spare spools and additional ones are £10 - cheaper than the Demon, but I think there should be deals for 5 or 10 spool packs.
Overall, delighted so far.
