Orvis Hydros vs Helios Review

Hi David,

Haven't done any that you mention. If I can get my hands on a micrometer, someone I know must have one, I'll get some measurements. Hopefully next time I see zoomer with the helios I'll have a micrometer. We can esaily check to see if thesections are interchangeable.

Hi Scotty,

You should be able to get one for about £15 or less off the bay. They are very handy, amongst other things they great for checking your tippet material and fly line sizes. The coloured finish on the rods may be different thickness. Usually though this is micro thin and will not vary from rod to rod too much if the are coated in the same batch.

Ideally you want to cut them up to check the wall thickness too and see if there is any difference......

However even swapping the sections around will tell you a lot. I'll be interested to hear how that goes.
