Well here's the review you've all been waiting for. I have no connection with the manufacturer or the resellers, I'm not a sales rep and don't own a tackle shop. I just like going fishing, fly fishing. I bought the Caimore #5/6 Eternal MK2 in response to a posting on this forum asking if the reel...

I bought a Caimore eternal 3/4 fly reel last year, cracking little reel to look at, but don't get it WET!!! as the drag on mine just seizes the reel up solid, and stays that way until it dries out again..

My brother bought the same reel last week. Have had it submerged in a bucket of water for several minutes this morning (after reading this) and it's functioning perfectly. I must say for the money, think he paid £48 including postage, these reels are amazing value.

Hmmm??? Mine must be a dud then but if you want to buy it for a spare, you can have it for £25 (posted) as i haven't used it since it seized up on me..

It certainly wouldn't! I have a pre-WWII Pridex and it works as well now as it did when it was New!

A brilliant review on the Caimore. Sounds like Value for Money? But one jammed reel is enough to put me off getting one! I'll pay the extra for Hardy, even though they are also made in China.

I think if you buy direct from the Caimore website they work out cheaper than Ebay.
