As I've said elsewhere, Stewart's line can't be beat for value.

I have the floating 4, 6 and 8 wts in ivory, and they all work really well, although I do see differences in the castability. For some reason, the 6 wt seems to have a little bit more memory than the 4 and 8 wts -- the 8 wt is really limp and comes off straight right from the get go, the 4 wt needs just a little bit of stretching, but the 6 wt kinks and is slightly "coil-ly" in the beginning, although it improves quite a bit after about 10 long casts. I have both the 4 wt and 6 wt on an Okuma Airframe 4/6 LA reel, and the 8 wt on an Okuma Integrity 8/9 LA reel.

My favorite line, though, is the Cortland 444 Sylk, which I use on my bamboo 6 wt rod and my 3 wt Diamondback Flawless, both mounted on the older Orvis Rocky Mountain reels. No memory whatsoever and really shootable due to their thinner diameter. Fantastic line, but they do cost twice as much as Stewart's lines.

BTW, I only got one braided loop with my lines .

Default Pitsford Pirate Fly Lines

Hi,

Just like to add my comment that the service from PP is 1st class. Ordered a WF7 dry line and it was delivered within a few days.Yet to try the line but it looks and feels the business.

Will certainly use PP again.

Cheers

Jim

If you fish the wrong fly long and hard enough, it will sooner or later become the right fly.

Hi mate,

got back and there was a pressie waiting Took it down the lake for a cast. Not that the opinion of a fat ****** is very reliable, but it's honest! and here it is.

I didn't think the line would be no good, after all the hype on the forum, but i wasn't expecting it to be the world's best line. What can you really expect for £15???
Took the line out of the bag, cut the ties. 1st impression; bit of a coil!! But i didn't form too much of an opinion, as it's on the water that counts. So i chucked it out, and my did it go! Superb casting line, floats very well too. Still a bit of memory, and not completely straight lying on the water. Nice length. After half an hour casting it, it lay straight on the water, lost its coilyness (what a word!) and was casting even more effortlessly, just got better and better! Comparing it to the Snowbee XS (which was by far my favourite floater), it floats just as well (i suppose something can only be so good at floating), lies beautifully straight on the water (as does the snowbee) and is quite a bit easier to cast. The only thing the snowbee had over it is it is a tiny bit more supple; but then the snowbee is the most supple floater i've used, by some way. The snowbee doesn't turn over as well as your line, either. Turning the leader over required no effort what so ever, and the front of the line always lead out well and landed perfectly straight and gently on the water, especially for a WF7! And a bit slicker than the snowbee, too.

a pleasure to cast, i actually enjoyed just standing there throwing it out.

The last snowbee i bought was £38. After using your line, you really have to ask yourself what you are paying for. 2.5x more expensive than your line, and the two perform similarly. The thing is i used to think the snowbee was good value compared to a lot of lines!!! and they don't even give you any glue! Just some crappy line slick.

I hope that cheque doesn't bounce, 'cause you're not having your line back!
Very impressed mate, thanks very much. My mate needs a new intermediate... you should be hearing from him.

They are Pitsford Pirates Fly Lines. I think it's well out of order to keep pushing publicly for commercially sensitive information. Either you are a completely insensitive nosy parker who thinks his curiousity is worth more than anothers business, or you are someone with a vested interest in blowing the market.

If there are only 3 UK players and none of them or PP will tell you what you want to know then perhaps there is still some honour in business?

Please SU

(Dammit - now I've screwed up the scoring since the forum engine doesn't seem to let me edit or remove the attached poll! Sorry Stewart/Stuart I've emailed the moderators to correct).

A fantastic day at Jubilee, putting the PP #7 WF Fast Sink through its paces. Windy as a windy thing, and the line performed perfectly. Straight as a die every cast, no memory, sank well, what more can I say. Will be back for more.

beats the greys platinum hands down, and at a fraction of the price, great product and a great guy to deal with, will purchase a lot of them in years to come.

Embarassed to admit that I can't completely remember what lines I've had off Stewart 5 I think over last 2 or 3 years - its your fault Stewart - its your "no fancy boxes" policy - I stick 'em on a reel, chuck the bag away and then forget what the line is! I think they are a WF5, DT5, Airflo Di7 (ok, he just got me a good deal on that one, not a line of his as such but top notch service still), maybe also a WF7 in there somewhere, and have just got 2 more - an ivory DT4 and camohogany DT4 (not used yet). Basically ditto to all the above comments about line quality, service quality and price. Only reason to buy elsewhere is if its a line he doesn't do!

All you need to do now is team up with mrtrout (Steven) and do a few combo offers with his excellent furled leaders!
