Default rod dibble Silk Furled leaders

I have tried various times over the years, furled leaders, as a basis for a good set up.
Articles in the angling press praising products by Roman moser.I have had things made in Aus, I have sent to Quigleys in USA ( great build quality).
I have tried all sorts but never found they matched the hype.
Recently fishing with Stuart Crofts, I was whingeing about my leader problems. He put on a furled leader and a three foot tippet. Oh joy of joys, perfect turn over, and no spray on the lift off. I can even kick in a little crook shape if I want,
I have tried my Quigleys again and they just dont match up The taper just doesnt seem right( for me). Stuart Crofts furled leaders in really fine silk, are three and a half feet of taper and are made by Rod Dibble ( i just love that name!)
I told him I wanted the Stuart Croft Pattern for my rod weight and they arrived the next day.

You can buy them direct or through spiders

I have no vested interest, just finally feel I have sorted out my leader set up!

Agree completely... I think I've mentioned somewhere on here before that I was having problems with my little old Orvis Superfine for real close-in work... it may be full flex but no leader / tippet set-up that I could design would put quite enough weight into the front end for those 6-foot-under-a-branch-with-no-backcast-to-speak-of manoeuvres.

But when I dropped one of Rod's furled leaders into the system... magic!

Works every time, and I can't rate his craftsmanship highly enough. Two thumbs up from me too.

Been a fan of these for a while, not just wee under the tree ones but longer ones for the bigger rivers.

Well another convert then.

I love them and wouldn't use anything else. I even love the way they will sink when wet. But if you want them to float for some reason, a couple of over head flicks and it's dry.

Work really well with Sage quite taper.

Sage quiet taper is what I am using mine with, but i had the 'pleasure' of trying them with a silk line last year on an old orvis 2wt.... that was as perfect a turn over as I have managed.
Are you using the 3.5m?

I had exactly the same experience with Stuart, I had previously abandoned furled leaders but Stuart showed me his set up, Rod sent me one of the leaders and everything is now hunky dory.

Don't be conned into thinking you need a stack of leader between the furled leader and the fly because 3 feet was quite enough for spooky Derbyshire Wye fish.
