Magnetic Net Release from theessentialfly.com
Magnetic Net Release from theessentialfly.com

Default Magnetic Net Release from theessentialfly.com

This magnetic net release from www.theessentialfly.com is simply brilliant. It has a very small cost of £7.99 in comparison to the same thing from Orvis at £15.99 or thereabouts.

To start with the magnets are a metallic green colour and supplied with them is two split rings and a length of elastic lanyard to connect between the net and your vest should you go dropping it in the water!

The magnets are incredibly powerful and self-locate with ease. Just stick the net behind your back and *bang* they'll find themselves. There is also absolutely no chance these magnets will come apart unless you pull on them pretty hard! I'd even go as far to say they could probably even hold a salmon gye net! But you may want to test this first!

Theessentialfly.com shop was the best value for money net release I could find and also received a very good write up in Trout & Salmon. I would highly recommend this magnetic net release kit and would say there's no way you could go wrong with you're purchase!

Hi Scotty

How did you go about attaching the magnet to the landing net?

Cheers

Hi Mal, usually just a small plastic cable tie will suffice.

how does it compare to the C+F magnet system. I found it very good but a tad pricey.

The C&F lanyard and finish are a little more refined. The important part, the magnet, is every bit as good as the C&F and despite the price difference will do the job nicely.

I have tried both and the EF magnet is much stronger than the C&F one.
It holds my gye net ok.

I just used a cable tie to attach the magnet on the top of the net, so that when attached the handle hangs down...
