Bison Wellies & a Snowbee 3/4 Jacket
I've picked up a few items recently at pretty good prices (I hope!).
@ £30 + p&p from Fishingmad/Amazon
and
a Snowbee Classic Breathable 3/4 Length Jacket down from £136 to £75 + p&p from John Norris.
They arrived (Hebrides) very quickly, so I thought deserved a mention here. I'll be giving both severe grief when I ghillie this coming season and will let you know how they last.
Right now, the boots are very comfy and quite light, showing good grip on long, wet grass, heather and peat - I've not tried wet, mossy stones yet!
The jacket looks good and gives a lot of wind protection around the neck. I'm 5' 10, medium build and bought a Medium size. It fits really well on the arm with enough room about the body to allow an extra fleece and a fishing vest to be worn underneath without restricting the cast.
It has Velcro/neoprene cuffs, a couple of large pockets inside and out, fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets (much appreciated already!), waist drawer-string and a 2-way zip.
For the money, I'm really impressed. The only reserve I have is that the cloth is lined with a white, 'plastic' film on the inside. I still have an old but similar Snowbee wading jacket that was excellently waterproof for several seasons, but once this layer went it was only good in fair weather, no matter what chemicals I then sprayed on it.
That wading jacket probably lasted 8 seasons, which is pretty good, but this coat will see much more usage in one season than it ever did.
I'll report back anon ....
