Hi Billeadie, I take it that this jacket is guaranteed. Send it back and mention what you've said here. £200 is a lot of money if you're not happy.

If they refund you, look elsewhere for a worthy product. There are plenty of guys on here who use good gear at affordable prices.

Look through the product reviews for users experiences, or ask what others are using. Most will tell you and give an honest opinion.

I can't comment on the EWS but you won't go wrong with Orvis, loop and simms. I'm sure others will vouch for that.

I was told they recalled that one because of leakage issues?

My EWS fleece leggings are **** too - pocket stitching went after about 2-3 uses, and i wasnt even using the pockets.

I hope to get refund but they were a present, so might just stitch them myself.

I never buy Hardy any more - overrated, overpriced , just like the Marksman reel i got from them in the past - now replaced by the excellent Snowbee Geo.

I have emailed customer services not just regarding the jacket,the whole range of clothing is sub standard.

For less that £200 you can get a top quality Goretex short style jacket from various outdoor activity specialists, probably far better quality and more durable. The one I use is made by Columbia and was half price at £75 or something like that. Its been brilliant, about 3 years old now, my kids have also used it for their Duke of Endingburgh award activities and I've used it on some long distance hill walks. Its kept them and me lovely and dry in some truly foul weather. I don't need loads of fancy pockets as I wear a fly vest over it anyway.

Get yourself a Simms wading jacket and you won't be disappointed. Mines is around 8 years old in excellent condition and the next time I get wet in it will be the first time.

How about the Snowbee Geo, I got one from Sportfish £100 off, fantastic quality!
