It's a braided wire, from Germany I believe. Supposed to be the db's for attaching your fly to your leader (we're talking pike here of course). I've just bitten the bullet and sent for a spool, £12 ish plus the VAT plus the postage for a 5 metre spool of 17 kg. It does look very knotable so there won't be any need for clips/swivels/etc. Also thought that it might be handy on conventional pike gear. Just wondered if anyone had tried it..............I have a shiny new linear lake around 3 - 4 feet deep, for the most part, full of pike up to 30lb to try..........perfectomundo for the fly. And Mrs BN is off on holiday with her girlie friend soon, so it's BN the bow-wow and the pike...........................birdsnest

Aye,it would be quite something to get one on the fly right enough but ye never know....stranger things have happened...

I'll be interested to hear how you get on nonetheless.

I have just received my spool of authanic wire. This stuff really does look the box deluxe. It's very supple, knots easy and is a lot more kink free than other wires I have used. I had to wrestle it of my piker mate when he saw it. Now to get it wet.......................birdsnest
