Good effort on the flies there mate.

I have found pike flies in the 6" size ranfge to be the most regularly effective, even for big fish. In trout waters they are so easily fed from the masses of fry that a big fly often gets ignored, but a 6" on a 4/0 gets hit even if the pike has fed well. I have flies that are 12" long, but they don't get the same number of fish the smaller ones do and the smaller ones still catch some good fish.
