South Yorkshire there are plenty of good Res's worth a look, some of them are gruellers mind but there are a few good ones, Pebley is OK although I was disgusted in the state of the place with the litter last time and the Bailiff is there all the time-seems only paper hes interested in picking up has the queens head on it........if you meet him, condiments advised on his stories too
Some good rivers and canals pretty close

North Yorks is a bit of a struggle on the stillwater/ canal front but there are a few smallish waters around york worth a look and a couple of river/canal cut offs should the main rivers be flooded.

Semerwater used to throw some good 'uns up too
