I can imagine anything quite large, tailed and garish. Haven't been able to avoid them on the old Cat this season. Having said that, hooked and lost a pike on a Hopper a couple of weeks ago.

I don't target pike, so I don't really know.

I like rabbit strip flies for pike. I always have bunny leeches and/or zonkers in my trout boxes. I just caught an 8 lber (pike) the other week on a chalkstream.

Thanks
Rick

If you're going to target them in a water with trout then you can't really use trout lures as you will keep on catching trout. Your best bet is to go for a bigger baitfish pattern to cut down on the number of non-pike takes.

I'll second the jack frost birdsnest. I fish quite regularly on the Leeds and Liverpool canal and its my go-to fly for the pike in there. I've tried bigger stuff but no success so far.
I bet the 13lb er from Raygill went like a train little al!!!!! I've had lots of follows from big pike there but no takers yet apart from the jacks. On quiet evenings Bernard lets you fish for carp on the fly........ now thats amazing.
