Default Titanium trace wire

Looking for information / recommendations for Titanium wire to be used for FLY Piking.

What brands have you used and can positively recommend ?

Solid or stranded ?

Do you see an advantage over the Surflon Micro Supreme I currently use ?

I found this one whilst searching - Any good ?

All help and advise appreciated ...... Tony

Tony ,it seems its each to their own on pike leader preference.I was using this Optima Kevlar Steel and the only problem I had was the pig-tailing at the knots .Dougie sent me a built trace using single strand titanium with a fastch connection Stringease "Fastach Multi-Use Clip" - Rollie and Helen's Musky Shop - The World's Largest Muskie Shop and the optima was binned.I never tried the Surflon so cannot compare but the single strand strand casts well and with the connection changing flies is a doddle. It unwinds and lies straight so if Stormfry on here ever returns mine its single strand for me.

Never ever use standard mono for pike traces of any kind.....Try these by West Coast Angling, Grind line pike fly traces, they are especially for pike fly fishing and in my mind they are impossible to beat.......Very good price too........http://stores.ebay.ie/West-Coast-Ang...=p4634.c0.m322

I smell spam

The link doesn't work , is that shop you by any chance ??

Anyway I found them and they look $hit , to stiff , not made of wire so therefore not 100 % safe don't care what anyone says ! Over priced for what they are when people can easy make their own ...

Oh welcome to the forum
