Glad you put it up again though; it deserves another airing. BTW I think this should be in the Trout and Grayling or Sea Trout boards: that's what Steelhead are after all - they deserve the mainstream attantion on here IMHO.

Kidding aside, if you hook one (a very good thing

) your 'odds' of landing the damned thing if it's over 10 pounds are really slim.... if your flies on the end of a 6-8 pound test leader. The 'damned things' love to go
AIRBORNE in lower water flows.
If you've got you're 'whits about you' as soon as you see him clear the water, you'd better be 'bowing to the fish,'' or have a really light drag on your reel and lots of beach to run like hell.
