Default Brash not always best

Had a weekend away there with a few mates and fished a high pressured Lake.

On the first day I tried my usual go to flies such as the silver sparkler and various other attractor patterns with the odd nip and follow but no confident takes. A switch over to smaller, more natural patterns did the business.

These are the pick of the bunch taken on a natural Perch baitfish....

Just goes to show that even with Pike you sometimes need to 'match the hatch'!

Great conditioned fish as well , not a mark on them

I see the Avons there in the pic , out of interest ( not that is matters ) what were the weights ???

Three biggest fish were 21lb10oz, 20lb8oz and 19lb followed by a 16lb
