Default Favourite flies flor Carp

So what do you favour? Some people use bread flies after chumming which is fine if you're into that kinda thing, but what do you wander round the lake with tied to your tippet?

I've had some success with large dries, plopping slow sinking beetles and the odd damsel-ish nymph but was interested in what everyone else goes for?

Cheers,

Graham

I've done very nicely on claret or red copper wire ribbed emergers with a dark green glister thorax, a poly-ball instead of a wing post and a grizzle hackle tied like a klink. Size 10 or 12 B100. I've also dropped to 4lb fluorocarbon tippet (4# rod to balance) and one of the Pirate's Camou lines as it seems to spook them less.

Spun deer hair bread or biscuit flies will do extremely well on waters where they are used to getting the real thing thrown at them, which to be honest is pretty much any small commercial carp water nowadays. Can't say what I'd use on a pit as I've never fished one.

If you get it right you will out-fish float anglers.
