Default Can anyone recommend any stillwaters for pike in Yorkshire?

As the title - loking for a stillwater, rather than a canal to fish on the fly for pike.

Thanks in advnace!!

Rich

Thanks Bruce!

That would be perfect! I've had a google and can only find information on the fishing there from around 2002/2003. I've e-mailed them to see if the fishing is still available.

Any more chaps?

Raygill, near Skipton might be worth a bash. I've seen fairly large pike (12lb+) in the margins and there are supposed to be some bigger ones in there. I remember an article in one of the mags, written by Nick Halstead I believe, where they were targetting big browns but had a huge pike instead.

Thanks Sharky - looks good that one, I'll give it a try.

Just got this back from Castle Howard:

Fishing is currently restricted to holiday home owners. People camping with us can purchase a day ticket from reception. We do not allow people to fish at night. The lake has not been stocked for many years but there are some large fish thriving. Please phone the number below for any more information.

Also read some bits and bobs which say the fish stocks have suffered terribly over the yearsdue to cormorants/floods etc, so not sure what to make of it.
