Well done sir! That's a corker! I also know of a top secret location where two giants of the chub world hang out, and I'll be there come the glorious 16th. My best chub is around 3 1/2lb, on a sedge last autumn, but my favourite, just a couple of weeks earlier was only around 2lb. I stalked him for most of the afternoon - either he wasn't interested in the fly, or I couldn't sight the fly under the bushes where he lived, or one of his smaller relatives attacked before he got a look-in. Then when he finally took, he crash dived straight into the water lillies, and a long game of patience ensued. Eventually I let the line go slack, he tiptoed out, and I got him to the surface. I then found I had an audience of small boys, one of whom netted the chub for me and remarked: "My brother had one twice that size last week." Ho hum........
But was it worth it ? Yes it was !!
Dave.
