Default slaughter of pike

Talked to a guy who is a pike fisher be it fly, dead bait or spinning, anyway
he tells me that some eastern europeans have been seen fishing a certain location and drifting out pallets on a line and under the pallets are up to 12
lines set at different depths with dead bait attatched and are catching with good success. All these fish are killed and eaten, and they more often than not leave a hell of a mess behind them, the entry has now been blocked because of the mess spoiling it for one and all. If they want a pike for the pot so be it but should they have the right to kill all the fish? the lad has heard this happening on other waters in our region has any others heard of this further afield? I'm not saying all eastern- european anglers anglers are like this because i know they are not! have you heard of any british guys leaving a mess or killing all that they catch? maybe to some pike are a menace to others a delight but surely they deserve more respect than what has been described, if this is true what can be done to stop the slaughter.
i'm from the n e of scotland by the way

Try reporting it to SANA.

That was mentioned but what i was told was these guys are a law to themselves and may have a convenient lanuage barrier and if policed i'd imagine they would just relocate waters.

Illegal method - speak to the local bailiff or police and they can be charged under the relevant legislation. Not really sure what SANA could do other than report it to the relevant authority.

Don't know if there is a bailiff on that loch? as iv'e never fished it, yet again iv'e never seen a bailiff on any wild loch, most are remote and as iv'e said near on impossible to police properly. When i have fished lochs you might not see a soul all day other days maybe 2 or 3 folk and if i intend to fish certain lochs i always enquire about payment, access etc

Afraid this is all too common, not so the technique but the end result & in most cases it is Eastern Europeans & other instances Chinese.
I recently had to move on a family that were fishing our loch (out of season) for Trout. I spoke to the Police about it & they basically shrugged their shoulders & said there was not a lot they could do. Was not high on their priorities. You are going to get more & more of this thing happening. The bailiffs on the River Leven regularly get Chinese netting the mouth of the River supposedly for Mullet but a few not adverse to chapping a few Sea Trout & Salmon if they can.
Not fishing related but an incident I witnessed Saturday morning.
Arriving at work an old Transit type van parked in front of me in the bus bay.
By the time I had opened the gates drove in to turn facing out a middle aged women, looked Gypsy in appearance was best I could describe had got out the van went across the road to the Islamic Aid shop where people leave things at the door when it is shut despite notices not to do so, mopped up three bags of clothes & a bike & before I could say anything they were in the van & off.
