JJ give me a bell mate - I also have a lake lined up for this year, as a tip off from one of the fisheries board lads as an mecca for big pike and that can only be accessed by river.
Ah, a mystery lake.. I like it... Let's do it....

I might go out on Ballyquirke tomorrow just to see if its all it is cracked up to be..

Stylie, you are one unlucky barstool..

cheers

Hi, there are plenty of Pike waters in Clare. I once lived 1 mile south of Gort. Go through the town and head for Limerick. About a mile out see a fork going left, take it and stop immediately. Now look left and see bungalow on left and slightly behind you-Balanakill House. That is were I lived 1989. If you walk up the drive with the house in front of you, over to the right and the other side of the house-down the valley is a huge lough. That is full of Pike. I caught loads. Don't need permission, nobody interested-just go fish.

From there head back out onto main road and go towards Limerick. You will come to Crusheen. See garage on right, pub next door. Go into pub and ask them where to catch pike...there are about 20 loughs within 10-15 min drive and they will let you fish. All well Pikey. Go on from there towards Limerick and there is a fantastic Lough on the right Drom something...big pike in there. Next you come to Ennis and the river Fergus, free fishing Pike and Salmon. When you have exausted that lot let me know and I'll tell you a few more. Good Luck...
