Chew is just down the road from me. Not fished there before but planning on doing some trout fishing there as well.

Could maybe do with an easier smaller water to start with. Will try the somerset levels once the season starts again. Not really sure where else I can pike fish around here until the coarse season starts again. Going to give the Bristol Avon a go to come the new season. There is a free stretch right next to my work which doesent seem to get much attention, although casting may be a problem. Might have to revert to standers pike tactics to fish it.

Dougie's spot on. You'll find it very rewarding to find your own water. There's no substitute for go old fashioned leg work.

Sorry lads. I've tried to correct my error. It should read "Good Old Fashioned Leg Work".

Agreed, but fishing from the bank at Chew isn't the same as fishing from a boat. There is miles of shoreline to expore with much of it difficult to access. After 3 years I have barely scratched the surface.
