Some very interesting comments on this thred and like some one else said this debate seems to get the pulses racing

lol i my self was not a fan of flourocarbon and hard mono having never used it like most of its critics

but then i thought how can i slate it having never used it so i did i tried different brands of flouro carbon to start with and then tried hard mono after a friend recomend it to me after being let down by many different makes of wire and nylon coated wires as some times im out 3 times a week depending how work is lol i thought i would give it a good try and see what the results were
i gave up using flourocarbon as a bite tippet as it does get fatigued after a long period of time and will get bitten off after a few fish
certain wires are good for a couple / a few sessions before they curl up on them selfs and they allso suffer fatigue badly the nylon coated wires lasting that little bit longer
hard mono for me outlasted them all i have used one trace for the last 4+ years and its still good as new the only thing i have replaced on it has been the clips as when you changing your fly regular they suffer from fatiuge as well so worth keeping and eye on it apart from that never had a single bite off and i have had many fish of all sizes on this trace and its never let me down yet ive not had to mess about making taces on the boat either so more time to fish this is just my own personal experence of using these materials what i have noticed is how many people get hard mono mixed up with flourocarbon

and think there one and the same

so make of it what you will

i would love to see some photos or evidence from these critics of the hard mono bite offs people refer to ????? as most that i have been shown up to yet have been flourocarbon users
all the best dave
