I believe the river Derwent holds a few , Cromford area in particular as I recall .I have caught small ones while fishing the river near Ladybower so they must be widespread ?

EA website is a good plce to start... names fisheries in your chosen area with the likely species stocked... down load that and use Google earth to hunt out your haunts...

You should consider joining the PFFA as well good value for a tenner!

Only one place of note in the area for Piking; Butterley Reservoir near Ripley (day tickets). It used to have a couple of respectable thirties. Travel a little bit and get amongst some fish in the area around Pebley (day tickets). Plenty in that corridoor. Further still and the drains of Lincolnshire knock them all into a cocked hat.

If you want to fish Butterley for Pike you have to get a pike season ticket I think it's £12 and you can only fish for Pike from the beginning of October. You can get a ticket from the tackle shop in Ripley, and you may be able to get them from the bailiff on the bank. It's a weird system, but I presume it's to stop people fishing for them during the summer when they are vulnerable, but as Warren says there are Pike in there. You can see the smaller Jacks under the platforms if you tread carefully.

Wingerworth Lido also has quite a few in. You can see them basking in the summer. I had planned to fish for them this year but other events have prevented me from doing so. This is a day ticket water. Speak to the bloke at the tackle shop in Clay Cross and he'll be able to give you more info.

Good luck.
