Small lures seem to work well.

They take lures, this large Chew fish fell to an Alexandra Lure, it was clearly a long time ago when B&W was the norm! From memory it was about 3lbs, a good perch anywhere.

I should add that you can catch the smaller ones several at a time like mackerel on a team of three, Llandegfedd is (was) stuffed with them and it was a pain getting through them to find the trout.

Thank you chaps, for your comments on my flies, really like tying these good fun, Sewinbasher is right perch will take trout lure's but when after perch do like to fish what they might be feeding on. perch will feed on any food that is good for them, did have a perch off chew 4lb 11oz on a buzzer as there were loads of huge buzzers about 1inch long like you find on there. the photo i have of it is also in black and white, will see if i can dig it out. but most of the time you will find them chasing small fish and minnows. that's why i tie these mini patterns for them.
Here are a few more i have done, this time of the year i always tie a load as a lot of people who see them want some

Dai have you fished those as I would have thought they cold fish on their side as opposed to upright?

I always used to catch perch on large Jersey Herds. They love gold!
