Default Royal Military Canal

Has any one ever fly fished the royal milatary canal for pike ?

if so is it a good sport and where are the pike hopt spots?

also is it a day ticket water?

Hi Tony,
Used to be a regular on the military but the last few years the water management has been disaster. They let FAR too much water out of the gates at star lock and this induces massive weed growth during the summer and the water stays a horrid silty chocolate soup for the rest of the winter. It used to be a stunning venue for pike, deep and clear and ive had plenty of doubles and lots of smaller pike. 10 a day was not uncommon!

But sadly its nothing campared to what is was....
