Default perch

Could anyone advise on a suitable fly for catching perch, i'm guessing something containing a bit of crystal flash may arouse there senses?

An orange Fritz Dog Nobbler works works for me on my local water. I think any lead head/marabou fly would work well. Its the tail that gets 'em.

Orange fritz does seem to be favourite for Perch, although I did catch one on a Damsel nymph last week

I've been throwing marabou streamers.
I'm going to experiment twitching a big weighted bloodworm-type fly next time I'm down the river since they can normally be caught on lugworms.

i might try concoct something in the shed however my fly tying materials are limited to some red crystal flash and some craft style fur that i use for dressing my pike lure trebles.

i did catch a few perch on my lunchbreak from the river on the fly rod but i cheated and stuck a worm on a size 10 lol

ok so being new to fly fishing i had no idea what an orange dog knobbler looked like so i google imaged it and tried to replicate it from the few bits i have i call this one the dogs dinner

not available at a tackle shop near you anytime soon lol

i'll give it a flick in the morning before work see what happens, i was intending on going on the river next to work but its a little urban sitting on a wall 10' up and having no back cast because of the willows behind, so i'll stop off at a local lake and let you know what happens

Hello mart,
