Default Accidental Perch

Was pulling wets for trout today and caught these 2 chaps , both at once

They gave me a good fight , one fights well , two at same time was fun I was happy to get them as was a slow day for the trout .

Yep they tend to hang around in packs. Nice pan size!

As said clean and gut them, open them up as butterfly fillets and marinate them in sweet chilly sauce over night in the fridge. Shallow fry mate they are very nice! Ahem... or that's what a mate told me.

Filleted and fried in smoked bacon fat for me. Ullswater's swarming with the little varmints - they need a good thinning out.

I've had a few of them too. No idea on what coarse fish are what though...until today

I caught a few on buzzers and an nymph with a pearl back. I think they like pearl??

Caught I few at the weekend, but not intentionally and they were stuffed with fry (no I didn't spoon them...fry was hanging out of them)

They all picked out flys with a little sparkle/twinkle...

When you have 2 on with your point fly trailing through the weed it does bring a little sport on what was a difficult day for the spotty fellows

Oi you lot they are really pretty fish put them all back. If they need thinning out then put some lipstick on them and take them out for a good night as they are so gorgeous.

yeah nice perch bud!!!, perfect condition and beautiful colours on them ,
what lake did you catch them in again, sheelin was it,
and not a single lice on them , i wish some of the trout in that lake would take note,
