Default big carp in my local lake

In my usual haunt there is a stock of brown trout, a few rainbows and what i reckon are some Big carp. the carp were stocked about 8 years ago and since then the lake has been taken over by ther angling club and it is fly fishing only. I know the carp were stocked and i regularly see big bubbles coming up from the bottom of the lake, and i think it must be the carp, but nobody is really bothered fishing them.

does anyone know what the best technique is to getting onto one of these fish with a fly rod? Is there any type of fly or bait i can put on my fly rod that will hook these lads and that the trout will ignore?

You're asking for trouble putting a bait in on a fly only venue so stick with the artificials. If you can see them on the top basking in the sun it may be worth a go with a dog biscuit or bread fly and hope the trout ignore it. Targetting specific fish will be your best bet.

Otherwise it'll be down deep with a large nymph but I suspect the trout will get there first.
