Default I know it's not much...

...but it was my first fish on the fly
I caught a liddle bleak on a maggot imitation, but we've all got to start somewhere. Had a very nice chub rise to a hare's ear, but it spat it out quickly.
Had a lot more luck on the swimfeeder but I'm sure you don't want to know about that

They all count Pixie, those chub are fast, you need to sharpen up on the strike for those.

Red face I 'feel your pain.'

Usually the upper Rogue River is pretty dead (fish runs) during June and July. June ..... Spring Kings if you wanted to use a heavy 'drift rod,' 20# line and 2 oz of lead to even find the bottom of the river.

Summer run Steelhead are my 'babies......' Nada .... till the last two weeks. Over 2,000 fish through the counter just north of Medford. If the temperature predictions weren't beyond 100 degrees I'd be on the river rather than typing this.

Default good one

mate, to be honest i don't care how i catch fish, or what they are...i just love to fish..

I still go beachcasting, deep sea fishing, tench fishing, pike fishing, even have a dabble on the pole or stick float now and then...but fly-fishing is my love...basically because i'm surrounded by excellent reservoirs.

By fishing a variety of styles and methods you'll understand fish better, be able to read the waters better and ultimately become a better angler..

besides....as long as you enjoy it who cares.....
