Yesterday (Saturday) was a dismal day in London – heavy drizzle all afternoon. Due to family commitments I was busy as well, but managed the last hour of daylight on the Wandle. Time being of the essence, I stuck a brown sedge on a short (to minimize drag) 3lb leader and first cast bingo!
Soon after, I got another chub, a shade smaller than that one, and then this roach (crumby pic as light was fading fast).
I then aimed at a shoal of dace that were rising like mad, but rather than take the fly they kept trying to drown it. Then it was dark & I naffed off!
Dave.
