Hi Guys

I was up the canal this afternoon with my wee 12 year old buddy hes daft on fly fishing and a dam fine caster.

Well i missed a wee jack pike he nailed this fine ,fine perch on my Viva nymph im well chuffted should have seen his face

When he started shouting and i saw the bend in his 10ft 7# i reckoned he was into a big jack pike !

This is his 2nd fish on the fly his first was a 6lb pike hes going far this lad.

Hi Guys

Yes will give him 1lb for that one

The lads keen and desperate to catch a trout took him to a fishery the other week i caught two he sadly blanked and asked why he didnt catch when i did ? Told him he was doing "nothing wrong" just the way it goes.

I hope to help him bag his first bow before the end of this week

Oh the lad wanted to keep the perch, i talked him out of it, took a load of photos for him and we returned it not that i dont mind the odd one for the pot

Well done the boy!!!
A wee blank now and again will do no harm. If its to easy they soon get bored and will end up playing computor games!

Lovely looking fish - good markings for a canal fish. It's quite long but look a little thin, 12oz-1lb seems about right.

Love big Perch, a worthy species to target.
