Default hereford pike

hi guys
im going down to hereford on sat. I was wondering if there are any pike fisheries suitable for fly fishing.
I have never fished for pike before but have read a lot on how to chin them and handle them.

Join the PFFA and find someone who can show you how to handle them... and please ensure that you have the right gear! Oh and remember the closed season for coarse fish in rivers (and some still waters).

chinning very big healthy and lively pike is not as simple a sit sounds, they can cause serious damage to angler and fish. gill rakers are like razors. learn with an experienced piker first.

and good luck. pike are a wonderful species.

I agree with the above , go with someone who knows what they are doing in order to learn the right way . Also use barbless hooks will make the whole job of unhooking less stressfull for both you and fish alike .

The only real pike fishing options near Hereford are in the fabulous River Wye where pike to over 30lbs have been taken recently but they are out of season until 16th June
