Default Help – First time Fishing for Sea Bass

As a new member I welcome some guidance. I fish for Trout and Salmon but fancy a crack at Sea Bass off the beach at Sennen Cove/Gwynver Beach , Cornwall this summer.

I assume a 10’ spin road would suffice given it will be an infrequent activity. What are the practical issues i.e.

1 Cast from the beach or rocks into the surf
2 What time of day
3 Directly into the surf or at an angle and across
4 Quick/slow/medium retrieve
5 What type of lure
6 Am I wasting my time!

Generally, any assistance would be useful.

Many thanks

I would try a dexter style wedge... absolutely deadly and they cast an absolute mile so you can cover a lot of ground.

P.S. the fish are called just Bass, 'Sea Bass' seems to be what chefs call it to make it sound better on the menu
