A cold wind, a grey sky, but nothing will keep me from smiling at this one. Floating line, 2" black clouser saltwater pattern (I like the saltwater pattern as they're allot less busy than some freshwater streamer patterns).

Same fly accounted for a few jack pike and some attacks by a big old girl closer to a double.

Now I wish I'd spent more of the winter in Wimbourne instead of focussing on Grayling...

nice fish,around 2 and half lb ??,looking at it it looks like it has a deformity just at back of first dorsal, nice perch though all the same !!

actually bought those clousers as I just had an inkling they may work and didn't have materials. Have now bought the materials

On a 5 weight.

Great fish. The Stour has produced some big Perch over the last year.

I was lucky enough to hit a decent shoal on a Red letter day last spring had over 20 fish and at least a dozen over 2lb.

I have also heard of other anglers having bumber crops.
