Default A rare one on a fly.

Thought i would post this one, not many caught on a fly. i was fishing a lake and had about ten carp feeding on mixers. and after about 25/30 mins. and the fish were fighting for the floaters, i cast at a fish just on the outside of a bunch of about 5 fish. it looked a big 20 maybe in it light 30s, as i tryed to move deer hair fly in place a fish came up and had a go at it. what a prize i dont like Bream but at 17lb 15oz what could i say

Nice fish on any tackle, let alone a fly!

Dai, what flies do you use for your carp fishing as I am intrested in having a go when the weather warms up a bit?

That's a huge bream, well done.

Anyone know what the current British record breeam is? I'd have thought yours must be close, maybe even bigger?

Richard, The one i had the Bream on is the one in the top photo, and the bottom photo is the fly i tie up and have had some of my bigger fish on.

This one is tied up to look like a dog mixer biscuit, and it is tie using light deer hair. and you can turn down the color by using a brown marker pen

And this one i call my muddler damsel fly, have had lots on this one. tie them up like you see or with some lead wire to get it to fish sub subsurface.

And thanks guys for comments, think when i had this fish. the record was 19lb 02oz, but think its a little bit bigger now.

Cracking fish, well done! Could this be a record for the largest fly-caught bream? Do such records exist for coarse fish?
