The BIG ANSWER
There is a Wyevale Garden Centre near Althorpe House and inside they have loads of fish in tanks definately able to see the fish and should be easy to catch!

Or at Earls Barton the Nene Angling Association have a very nice stretch of river Adult membership £33 year or UP TO 17 £3 year membership at most Northamptonshire tackle shops

Theres No Flies on you Craig

Upstream implies running water... casting upstream, if you don't retrieve line to keep up with the current bringing it back to you, you'll be in one hell of a mess before long! AFAIK ledgering flies isn't particularly successful... but you never know

You'll need a gold head cheeseburger pattern fly on a short leader with an 8lb tippet connected to a fast sinker with a 3AAA insert waggler as an indicator cast upstream on a slow retrieve using Uncle Bens ready cook rice in the feeder mixed with sensas black.

The crawfish love it.

Craig

I can not decide if you are just trying to wind people up or you are genuinly stumped...

I beleive what people are hinting at is " GO AND TRY" you will learn much more if you are on the river bank that typing at the PC...
