Default Something I bagged last week.

Would have posted the pic sooner but my home PC has been out of action.

Anyway, first time I've tried to fish a nymph under a dry (klinkhammer) on my local river Ivel. 3rd or 4th run through and away it goes and I'm into this. Great sport on a 5 weight and made my afternoon.

Not a great picture as I only had my little sony cybershot with me (the Nikon is too heavy to lug around) but you get the idea.

Nice chub, Sunrider. When I was considerably younger, I occasionally dapped a dry fly for chub on the Eden -- poking the rod through the branches overhanging the river and sheltering a shoal of 'skellies', as we call them here in the wilds of Cumbria. Their first run was often very strong. They lacked the stamina of trout and grayling, but good sport, and not to be spurned. And there's nowt wrong with the pic.

Nice fish SR!

Unlike TC, I've never caught a chub on the Eden, but the Ribble is wick with 'em. A nice 3lber gave me a surprise earlier in the summer when it sipped down a small paradun.
I used to get a few on Lancashire's river Wyre when I was a kid - they would take near enough anything you'd throw at them so long as you did it stealthily (took one to a small piece of twig once).

Totally gutless fighters though....

Nice chub Sunrider did the fish take the klink or the nymph, and how far apart were they?
sounds a nice way of fishing.

It took the nymph, a little gold headed thing, I have no idea what it's name is.

They were fished about 2-3 feet apart, I guess the depth and couldn't have been far wrong as it seemed to work OK.
