Question Blithfield fly caught 49 lb pike.
There are rumours of a fly caught 49 lb pike from Blithfield. I understand more speculation of the capture has been printed in this week's Angling Times.

This would break the British pike record, yet details and photos don't seem to be forthcoming.

Is there anything on any of the Pike discussion forums or blogs? I don't visit these but it would be nice to have a link.

Nothing on the PFFA site and I have had no phone calles about it...except...there was an authenticated 42 out not long ago to a fly angler..and it might be that the story has leaked out and as anglers are want to do..the fish has got bigger each time its been reported...

Nothing on the Blithfield website, not mentioned in the weekly catches report....

Paul harvey had a 42 many years ago on fly, i personally think he has had more 30,s and 40,s than any other british piker, but hes a very modest guy...

its being discussed on pike and predator forums. Blithfield has the guts to do it....

PiB - Neville Fickling is right! Just had a message from a friend of mine, who has two mates who work at Blithfield and they haven't heard of it.
