Default How many Predators ?

How many freshwater predators worldwide are there which take the fly ?

While fly fishing in Thailand I can fly fish for (and catch) the following predators -

Giant Snakehead
Great Snakehead
Striped Snakehead
Jungle Perch
Barramundi
Arowana
Arapaima
Aligator Gar
Peacock Bass
Red Tail Catfish
Barred Sorubim (predatory catfish)
Chao Phraya Catfsh

Can anyone add to this list I have started ?

In the UK at least the main freshwater predatory species might be:
Pike, perch, trout (brown and rainbow),zander, chub. I suppose it could be argued though that all fish are predatory at least some of the time. Look at the numbers of carp (not always on bread or pellet flies either), rudd, roach, bream etc that are taken on imitative flies.
Good fishing,
Andy.

Flyfishing in Thailand sounds fantastic...could be a great holiday with the missus and I get to fish.

Went to Borneo on honeymoon ...spent it climbing hills and diving - my hobbies. I went to pack a flyrod and that is when the riot act was read

Might get away with it now we are married and 'honeymoon necessities' are a long and distant memory

Why risk the ire of a wife / girlfriend when with a little guile .............

Last year a guest booked a stay with his wife. They came to Bangkok for a "holiday"

Can you imagine their surprise when it transpired the villa booked by the husband was a fly fishing heaven, complete with a flyshop, guide and hire tackle !

His wife was most understanding....... I think.

Conspiracy ? What conspiracy !

I hope this starts a few thoughts ........
