Default Help please

Guys and gals.. really need some help/ advise from you all regarding pike fishing in ireland...

An old mate is coming over from spain to fish for a week with yours truly.. many years ago we used to fish together, but as time moved on, with our lives getting more and more busy, and with high powered jobs (not mine unfortunately ) we have missed out on a few years getting together.

Thankfully he is coming over this friday for a few days fishing.. the problem i have is this..

I am generally a trout flyfisher.. and my mate is into pike fishing.. thats all fine, and what with the shocking quality of trout fishing the past while it will be a welcome break.. Can anyone give me some advice on pike fishing in ireland?? I have a boat on lough corrib, but dont really know the good pike spots there, and so far as i know although there is a chance of a good fish, it can be slow...

I am basically looking for waters anywhere in ireland where i can go and put my boat and hope to get a good days pike fishing.. (fly and lure)
alternatively, advise on waters that you dont need a boat on would be great... i hear that there is great pike fishing in Cavan/Monaghan? can anyone put me wise?

The second problem is that i no longer have a trailer.. does anyone know of anyone that will rent out a trailer for 3 days? or perhaps someone mite be selling a second hand trailer for reasonable money?

I really want to give my mate some good fishing as we rarely get the opportunity to fish together.. so the pressure is on for me to sort it out...

Thanks guys and gals..

John O'Malley

ps.. forgot to say i am based in galway...
