For me it's got to be a Red and White Bunny Bug.

Mostly white as a base especially underneath, with some flash and either olive or red on top depending on whether the aim is to irritate/attract or fool

Default pike flies

My chose if colour depends on where I am fishing. One lake the pike will only take Yellow or Yellow/chartreuse, another lake the pike will only take orange. I waste hours trying to prove this wrong, only to blank all day until I change to the right colour.

After watching my mate land a 24lder, lately I have been tying massive silver sparklers, 10 or so inches long, with mixed results.

There is a lot of truth in the temperature of colours for all game fish. Green and yellow for cold water at the start of the year, orange for warmer water and leading on to red for colder water and purple an even colder colour for the end of the year.
