Smile flies for roach

Can anyone give me a few tips on which flies to use for roach in rivers and stillwater.

Cheers, Dave.

Like Chris said pheasent tails work well, so do hares ear nymphs as well. A gold bead on the nymph seems to add to the attraction.
I caught some roach the other day on a variation of the red tag nymph, Keep trying and let us know.

Thanks for the info guys, it's winter over here at the moment so hopefully when the weather warms in another month or two I can have a crack at the roach and carp and tench.

Cheers, Dave.

10oz dace. More than nice - that's a specimen.

Do roach and rudd take more drys than wets? What are your choices for wet and dry flies for rudd and roach?
