We are going down to stay in the area south of Angouleme and I understand that the river and several lakes are available for fishing.

Space is very limited but I wonder if it will be worth taking a light fly rod or just a telescopic spinning rod and a few lures, I have no idea what there is to be caught.

And river Touvre (7 km from Angoulème) wich offers fantastic clear waters, and some very big brownies (some of them around 4 kg) but :
- high fishing pressure
- very few access to the river (private properties)
- water pollution

But it remains definetely worth a try !!

I stayed in bergerac a few years ago there were trout permits available for local rivers in Moulin de Saint Pierre. But most of the available fishing seemed to be coarse / carp fishing.
