Default cheers fellas

I posted recently about overlining my rod, I was given advice on what lines live up to the task anyway I ordered a Rio outbound short wf9f.

Today I tried it out and after giving it a stretch I found it to handle lovely and I'm now comfortably putting my standard sized 6" flies 25yds even with a bit of a crosswind, the coatings nice and slick and it zips through the rings with ease, I even managed to land 5 pike upto about 8lb and lost one in a couple of hours fishing.

So thanks for the advice and for anyone looking for a new line then seriously consider this one

No I didn't bother today, I'm out again tomorrow though so if I get any good fish I'll get some mugshots.

Whats the easiest way to stretch the line to rid any built up memory and how often do most people stretch their lines?

Personally I get my other half to hold one end of the line and me on the other. Then I walk slowly back giving it a stretch. I've never really had a problem with memory on my outbound shorts. You do get a bit, but i've never had enough for it to worry me. I give them a good regular clean though.

Well I had a full day at it today and have to say the line was money well spent, no arm ache of any sort trying to slog away with an inferior line like before, I very nearly managed to put a full line out today. Only 4 fish today this being the best

Nice one mart_s. That is a fatty. Looks in good condition too. Did you say the place where you go is quite shallow?

Isn't it brilliant when a plan comes together

Knew you would be pleased with the Outbound Short.
Load your rod with only the head and 4 foot of shooting line - a good haul on the foreward delivery cast - and with practise, you soon be casting to the backing
Great picture you've posted - love the fly.

Have fun ..... Tony

Yes it's probably no more than 4' at the deepest, I had to give that fish some as it was trying to go under a submerged tree a good tussle under the rod tip.

I caught on 4 different patterns today olive perch, pink perch, fluoro perch and a hotcore

I actually fished a couple more waters today that have depths into the teens but found a few fish that followed around the margins and shallower areas

I seem to have settled on that profile for baitfish style patterns as I seem to catch well on it, my profile pic perch is my go to fly or at least it was until it decided to perch in a branch today lol
