Default Flies for perch

Hi Guys

I would very much like to try my hand at fishing for some perch. I have never done it before and if any one has any suggestions on what might be the best flies and also retrieves it would be much appreciated.

Thanks James

A lobworm fly would be great!

On a more serious note, whilst I've not targeted them myself, I should think you stand a good chance with fry patterns or nymphs.

The key will be location, after that catching them shouldn't be too difficult.

Have a look at this:

Tiny brook- Chub & Perch fun.

I've targeted them on lures before, and not done very well, I've caught more by accident on small nymphs.

Hi, I've always found any pattern with orange incorporated in it, normally catches perch.

They really like buzzers, but I find if i'm pulling flies. Butchers ,Dunkeld,or Appetiser.seem to work well.

My fishing buddy caught a Perch on an Orange Lure (fast retrieve) yesterday up at Bannockburn , 1 bloody cast after a 7.5 lb Rainbow which took the same thing...******
