The societies aims are to promote the enjoyment gamefishing to all. The society meet on a monthly basis through out the winter months and arrange a small number of fishing excursions during the summer, with the emphasis being on the sharing knowledge in a friendly good humoured manner.

As well as making regular contributions to this forum contributes regularly to Todays Flyfisher. Michael,
I think there's a lot of people on here who would love to hear Dave on his "Coarse" flyfishing but for various reasons won't be able to make it on Monday - mine sadly is a round trip of well over 500 miles from West Sussex - So any chance you can video it ! I'd gladly buy a copy !

WTF does Skateboard Dave know about catching coarse fish on the fly?

I'm kidding, I'd love to see a video of the talk, too.

Well I'm doing the same talk(well no two are ever the same, no script but close to 200 slides) for Wandle Fly Fishers on May the 8th, that is in London(ish), so approx. 100 miles closer to Australia. No excuse for not attending that one Bugsplat!
Seriously though anyone in the region at the time I'm sure would be made welcome. Wizard on this forum has the details, I'll message him to get the venue/times posted up here...because I don't know 'em.

Just to add that the Wandle Piscators are a mixed-species, mixed-method fishing club based on South London's River Wandle.

We are committed to helping this historic urban chalkstream come back from centuries of pollution, through monthly river cleanups, riverfly monitoring and improvment of the habitat, resulting in improved biodiversity for kingfishers, water voles, mayflies as well as coarse and game fish. www.wandletrust.org

In the spirit of Isaac Walton we would like to encourage respect amongst all anglers whether they be coarse, sea or game.

We are hoping that Dave's talk will impress the coarse anglers as well as the game anglers. Catching chub, dace or trout on the Wandle brings as much pleasure to both.

Details for Dave's talk on the 8th May to be posted here soon. www.wandlepiscators.net

Cheers
Wiz
