Default First fish on the fly

Went fly fishing on Saturday night,my first time out.My young mate and I decided to target pike mainly because our local pond has a load of them.We used a couple of 7/8 weight rods and two flies I tied myself ,10 minutes into the session the youngster catches a 3lb jack pike and we are chuffed, popped it back and 2 minutes later I was into this lady, took me 10 minutes to land her but what a result!
We are both over the moon and definitely hooked (pardon the pun!).
Sorry about the picture ,I took it with my phone and I can assure you I am not as ugly as this in real life.
Cheers John

Default Pike!

Hi - don't often look in this category on the forum but glad I got lost in the new set-up and found this gleeful picture of you and your spendid pike. Good for you - and thanks for sharing.

Trish

Very well done! Lovely pike, and fantastic (mad gleeful grin) smile, that's what fishing is all about.

Cheers,

Brent.

Thumbs up Well done Deno

Joey1 has hit the nail right on the head there. What a grin my son!! I developed lockjaw after landing my first pike on the fly so I know exactly what you were thinking in that marvellous picture. Pike are brilliant fish? I must get back to doing it more often!

Cheers!!
