Default Roach on nymphs

I read recently that a roach's main diet consists of insect larvae. I know many people have caught small roach on dries but has anyone had much success targeting bigger roach using nymphs?
Thanks

I believe they catch a lot on the Ijselmeer in Holland in April but I do not know the pattern.
Maybe someone will oblige.

sweave,

I've had some up at Gailey on black damsels - some nudging the pound mark, but only very occasionally.

had quite a few from the River Derwent (Cumbria) on GRHE variants - they weren't fussy!

I once caught a roach of about 10 ounce on a size six muddler.

But, I don’t think I would recommend it if deliberately targeting the species.

Red Tags (wet version) are very good for roach.

I've only ever taken roach on dries. I think John Horsey had a 3lb roah on a nyph from Chew. Not sure how long ago though.

Not sure I'd target them directly...but it's a nice idea.

Better than nymphs in rivers are shrimps. They take them as well as grayling do.
